For whatever reason, photos & videos of people reading at homo-centric are fairly rare. Once my cell phone graduates & becomes a smart phone I promise to take more photos. Until then--to paraphrase Blanche Dubois--homo-centric depends on the technology of strangers. I'm always glad to see photos & videos of people reading at homo-centric pop up on the interweb.
When Justin Huang read at homo-centric May 17th, his friend Aldo Cos was there to pop out the phone & press record. I'm glad they're sharing this with us. Watch Justin read a piece from his I Am Yellow Peril blog. By the way, I like the little coincidences that make life interesting. Aldo Cos comes to a homo-centric reading where we tell our stories to build community. Aldo is a photographer who (from the bio at his website), uses "the creative process of image making to connect with people of all backgrounds and tell stories to foster understanding and acceptance." I like that a lot. Enjoy the video & then check out Justin & Aldo's websites.

what is homo-centric?
homo-centric is a monthly reading series curated by Hank Henderson. The series is hosted by Stories Books & Cafe in Echo Park and takes place the 3rd Thursday of every month. By offering this space for LGBTQI writers to gather & share their words we hope to create a renewed sense of community. There's a hunger for connection and a wonder about our collective history that needs to be nurtured and continued.
